Jacob & Christina's 9"x9" magazine style design

I designed this wedding album to tell the story of the wedding day in 50 pages (25 spreads). The album is constructed using a patented system to open and lay flat. Opening flat provides an edge to edge, full bleed, surface to present this modern minimalist design. It is diffficult to get a real feeling of the book's quality construction and emotional imact without viewing it in person - but this preview is a good way to get a sense of how the photojournalism can be enhanced by a good design. You can view the slides of this wedding story book without the flash plug in with these plain HTML pages.

The 9 inch by 9 inch format has been our most popoular size for 2006, it facilitates a pleasing panoramic spread in a very manageable size (19 inches horizontally). I'd like to bring your attention to this minimalistic spread design as it relates to hiring a photojournalist with great attention to detail when shooting for your book at your wedding. I think that the wedding album demonstrates the skill and consistancy of a photographer in ways that can't be hidden by a single image. In this spreak, Christina's daughter hands the rings to Jake as they prepare to place the rings on each other's fingers. As I have developed my thinking awway from just getting the 'single' image here are three very similar images that tell a great deal about the event when they are combined in series for the complete ceremony between the couple. Throughout this book, a minimal design aesthetic complements elegantly captured images.
