Cobbs Hill Overlook wedding photos
The Cobbs Hill overlook is a classic Rochester scene to use for your wedding photos. The overlook faces west so you'll have to have some auzillary lighting (flashes) to shoot it correctly with the sun coming over the backs of the subjects. As you can see there's a great view of the Rochester New York skyline from an 'eye level' view. The Cobbs hill resevoir is nearby so expect to have a helpful park police officer remind you that you're not allowed to photograph the resivoir, but the elevation of the hill seems to put you at the same level of the skyscrapers for a great perspective on the city.
Here you can see the sun in the picture frame. We use Alien Bee Lighting equipment to achieve the results we want on our location shoots. We use a portable power pack to provide the necessary power to match the sun in the scene.
Liesl shot this unusual angle of another kiss.
Cobbs hill is at the intersection of Monroe Ave and Highland Ave on the South East side of Rochester. There's not much shelter for rain so any inclement weather will ruin the view and the shot. If you're thinking of places to take some photos without wether restrictions, think about the Monroe Count office building, City Hall, Lamberton Conservatory, High Falls Center, or any kind of coffee shop for a shot of espresso.
