Lamberton Conservatory Wedding photo information
A Photographer's perspective - by Neil Cowley
Well, if you know Rochester, you know rain. If you'd like to have a rain safe location, this is a pretty nice one. The part I like about the conservatory is the availability of natural light through the glass roof. If you're lucky enough to have a bright rainy day, the diffuse light is very nice. Otherwise, the other nice feature is the different looks you can get in the photos by going into differnt rooms. There are limited perspectives that a photograher can shoot from due to the narrow walks in most of the rooms so be prepared to do some different activities while in a confied space so that all the photos don't look the same in the end.
I like to shoot action, so walking through the narrow walkways is how I like to shoot something different than the standard group shot. The spots and dapples of light that fall through the vegitation are fun to play between.
This is a room view of the desert room where you have a little bit more space to work around. If you plan on shooting a large group, you will probably have to do it here. The roof is also south facing and not shaded by any trees providing the brightest light. In this room the photographer has more room to move and be creative.
