Warner Castle / Sunken Garden Photography Ideas

Well, when I first came to Rochester and someone ask me to shoot their group photos in the 'Sunken Garden' I was utterly perplexed. How would I photograph underground - and once I went there for a preview I wasn't much more excited. It is very difficult to photograph in the garden. Most photographer's I've seen lighn the group up above the garden so that they have enough light for the photos. Testament to the lack of light inside the garden is the lack of vegetation, flowering or otherwise. So if you think you want your photos in the garden, you'll definately want to visit the place in a similar season as you plan to be there, as well as a similar time of day that you plan to be there.

The above shot is from the east stair as it decends to the landing overlooking the garden toward the castle.
